Kiss A Pig Fundraiser
T he Nelsen ASB will be conducting a very unique and fun fundraising event from Jan. 14 - 23, called "Kiss a Pig".  Nelsen staff members have volunteered to actually kiss a pig (named Snort) during the Activities Assembly on Friday, January 23, 2009!

The pig is being provided by Valentine's Performing Pigs, nationally renowned for their pig assemblies.

According to Steve Valentine, the owner:

"Our pigs have been trained to kiss, which makes for great photo ops.  Other people's pigs tend to be fearful, stressed, or will bolt.  Our pigs have done thousands of shows, and the noise and "hoopla" does not distress them, in contrast to pigs who are "amateurs".  Of course they are potty trained, docile, and insured."

The ten staff members/teachers involved in the fundraiser are listed below.  Here’s how the fundraiser will work:  Each staff member/teacher will have a donation jar set up during the lunch period.  After eating lunch, students will donate money toward the person(s) of their choice.  The three staff members/teachers that raise the most money for ASB will get to kiss the pig at the assembly on Jan. 23rd

Money will be collected during all three lunches from January 14 through January 23.  Daily totals will be posted on large thermometers near the Hawks Hangout.
